Your details
When you register with the Haymarket Books website, you will need to choose a contact email address and password. You are responsible for all sessions and transactions taken under these details. You should keep your password safe and not disclose it to anyone. You should change it immediately if you feel it has been compromised.
You may choose to store your billing and shipping addresses with our payment card provider, Braintree Payment Solutions, for your own convenience. Providing Haymarket Books with an up-to-date billing and shipping address when placing an order is your responsibility.
The contracting parties

Your order
Haymarket Books must receive payment of the whole of the price for the goods that you order before your order can be accepted, and the contract formed. Once payment has been authorized Haymarket Books will confirm your order by sending an email to you at the email address you provide. The order confirmation email will include your name, the order number and the total price. Haymarket Books will make every effort to ensure that payment for your order is only taken once your goods are available for download or have shipped. Acceptance of the payment by Haymarket Books will bring into existence a legally binding contract between us on these terms.
Haymarket ebook license
Haymarket ebooks are free of Digital Rights Management (DRM-free), but are subject to the terms of this license. You own the file once you've downloaded it, and you can use it on any of your devices in perpetuity. It has visible and invisible watermarks, applied by Booxtream, which contain your name and email address. You are prohibited from uploading Haymarket ebooks to any website or file-sharing network, or in any other way making them available for distribution, sharing, copying, downloading, or reselling. Royalties from every sale will be paid to the author: if you're reading someone else's copy, then please buy your own license from Haymarket Books.
Availability of goods
Haymarket Books will make every effort to ensure that books are in stock and being shipped before taking payment. (Pre-orders will only be billed when the books ship to you.) However, if Haymarket Books has insufficient stock to deliver the goods ordered by you, then we will notify you as soon as possible and any sum debited by Haymarket Books from your card will be re-credited to your account, and Haymarket Books will notify you by email at the address given by you when you submitted your order. The refund will be made as soon as possible and in any event within 30 days of your order. Haymarket Books will not be obliged to offer any additional compensation for disappointment suffered.
Delivery of goods to you
Haymarket Books will mail, or arrange a courier on your behalf, for the goods ordered by you to the name and address you give Haymarket Books at the time you make your order. Delivery will be made as soon as possible after your order is accepted and in any event within 30 days of dispatch of the order. All delivery times quoted on the website are estimates only, based on availability, normal processing and delivery companies. You will become the owner of the goods you have ordered when the goods are dispatched to you from our distribution center.
Sales Tax
US. All US dollar prices displayed on the Haymarket Books website are exclusive of sales tax. Any applicable sales taxes will be calculated during checkout, and clearly displayed before you submit your final order.
Rest of World. Goods sold by Haymarket Books that are shipped to addresses in the rest of the world are not subject to US sales tax, but may be subject to import duties and taxes that are levied once the package reaches your country. Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so you should contact your local customs office for further information.
Additionally, please note that when ordering from Haymarket Books, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.
Liability
If the goods Haymarket Books delivers are not what you ordered or are damaged or defective or the delivery is of an incorrect quantity, Haymarket Books shall have no liability to you unless you notify Haymarket Books in writing at the Haymarket Books contact address of the problem within 30 days of the delivery of goods in question. If you do not receive goods ordered by you within 30 days of the date on which they were dispatched to you, Haymarket Books shall have no liability to you unless you notify Haymarket Books in writing at Haymarket Books contact address of the problem within 60 days of the date on which the goods were dispatched to you.
If you notify a problem to Haymarket Books under this condition, Haymarket Books' only obligation will be, at its option, to make good any shortage or non-delivery; to replace any goods that are damaged or defective; or to refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question to the original method of payment.
Haymarket Books will not be liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of any problem you notify to Haymarket Books under this condition and Haymarket Books shall have no liability to pay any money to you by way of compensation other than to refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question under the paragraph above.
Nothing in this condition is, however, intended to limit any rights you might have as a consumer under applicable local law that may not be excluded nor in any way to exclude or limit Haymarket Books liability to you for any death or personal injury resulting from its negligence.
Nothing in this contract creates any right which is enforceable by any person who is not a party to the contract.
Force Majeure
Haymarket Books shall have no liability to you for any failure to deliver goods you have ordered or any delay in doing so or for any damage or defect to goods delivered that is caused by any event or circumstance beyond its reasonable control.
Invalidity
If any part of these conditions is unenforceable (including any provision in which Haymarket Books excludes its liability to you) the enforceability of any other part of these conditions will not be affected.
Complaints
Haymarket Books operates a complaints handling procedure which is used to try to resolve disputes when they first arise. If you have a complaint, please contact CERSC at the addresses above, addressing your complaint to the Customer Service Department.
Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
Entire Agreement
These terms and conditions, together with the current Haymarket Books website prices, delivery details and Haymarket Books contact details, set out the whole of our agreement relating to the supply of the goods to you by Haymarket Books. These terms and conditions cannot be varied except in writing signed by a director of Haymarket Books. In particular nothing said by any sales person on behalf of Haymarket Books should be understood as a variation of these terms and conditions or as an authorized representation about the nature or quality of any goods offered for sale by Haymarket Books. Haymarket Books shall have no liability for any such representation being untrue or misleading.
Disclaimer
The nature of Internet communications means that your communications may be susceptible to data corruption, interception and delays. Haymarket Books shall not be responsible for any detrimental reliance you place on this website or its contents. Haymarket Books is providing this site and its contents (including any downloadable data or software) on an 'as is' basis and makes no representations or warranties of any kind with respect to this site or its contents and disclaims all such representations and warranties, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
